There are various ways of taking part in the platform:

    1. Mailing list:

If you wish to join the mailing list of the RDP, please write to us (RDP@eui.eu) by putting “mailing list” in the subject line.

    1. Knowledge-sharing:

Many researchers have published studies and articles based, among others, on the statistical and documentary data of the RDP. If you wish to share your own data, methods and analyses in the field of return migration and reintegration, please contact us to explore the possibilities to share your knowledge and experience.

    1. Online submissions:

The RDP welcomes unsolicited contributions, from all disciplines, written or visual, as long as they relate to return migration and returnees’ conditions and experiences. Given the international scope of the platform, there is no geographical limit.

We accept submissions (mainly in English or French) by post (RDP – Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies – Via delle Fontanelle, 19 – 50014 San Domenico di Fiesole (FI) – Italy) or by email (RDP@eui.eu). Responses usually take one to three weeks maximum, depending on the type of submission.

Online submissions include:

  • “Shorts” run between 500 to 1500 words. Shorts deal with time-sensitive issues focusing, for example, on policies and international relations;
  • “Online essays” run between 1500 to 4000 words. They offer a reflection on any aspects, whether anthropological philosophical political economic sociological or historical, related to return migration, returnees, and reintegration. Interviews and narratives are encouraged;
  • Photo essays, short movies and video art works. They are strongly encouraged, given their immediacy. Please contact us if you wish to publicise your work in the platform. Photographers and video artists hold the copyright of their works.

For shorts and online essays, please check the Chicago Manual of Style Online for writers’ guidelines. Online essays are published in the RDP Series and catalogued in the EUI’s Research Repository (CADMUS).
