CRIS kick-off meeting:

The kick-off meeting was held on 19^th October 2011 at the European University Institute (EUI) Florence, Italy (click here to read the programme). This first face-to-face meeting brought together the EUI research team and the partner institutions from Armenia and Mali.

The purpose of this one-day working session was primarily to get to know each other, to introduce the rationale for the CRIS project as well as its objectives and methodology. The agenda of the meeting was kept short to leave enough room for open exchanges and discussions.

Discussions focused extensively on the organization and implementation of the field survey, at the team level, and on its concrete management. Moreover, the quality control mechanisms and validation procedures as applied to data collection and data entry were clearly explained by the coordinating unit. The three-stage questionnaire, as well as its structure and variables were collectively discussed with a view to reaching a consensus among all the participants.
